Ditec invited over 100 international customers on a cruise

The maiden voyage of the new, luxury Costa Crociere ship, Costa Luminosa, took place between the 16th and the 19th of May 2009, leaving from Venice.
In this glamorous surrounding, Ditec organised a convention for over 100 customers, Ditec international distributors coming from the five continents: from Australia to New Zealand, from Russia to Thailand, from Finland to Greece.
Such a high number of non-European distributors proves that Ditec group, which this year celebrates its first 35 years of operation, has now become a well established brand all over the world in an ever growing number of countries, where the Italian quality of its brand is now widely acknowledged and appreciated.

No other location would have been more suitable than Costa Luminosa to present the latest Ditec products, also because over thirty automatic sliding and swing doors have been installed on the ship.

Costa Luminosa has been designed to shine on the sea like a star.

Costa Luminosa is a new ship both in its layout and materials. The ship has been designed with attention to details, from the materials to the fittings on board, and caters for people seeking the best.
The light in its most glistening facets, the play of lights, together with its design and the several works of art make it a modern, charming ship.
The outstanding Atrio Supernova, with its precious bronze sculpture “Donna sdraiata 2004” made by the famous artist Fernando Botero, symbol of Costa Luminosa, and the Murano glass chandeliers, are the first examples of sophistications on board.
Costa Luminosa is the group admiral ship, and is 300 metres long and weighs 92,600 tons.
The ship can accommodate 2,800 people in its 1,130 cabins and suites, over 770 of which have a private balcony.
It is undoubtedly the most innovative and scenic of Costa ships, fitted with a set of unique facilities, such as an 18 hole green, and external jogging and roller skate paths.
Over 11 bars, 4 restaurants, 2 swimming pools and several Jacuzzis, and a 3,500 sqm Spa.

The partnership between Ditec and Italian shipyards has been established many years ago and all Costa fleet ships are now fitted with Ditec automatic doors.
Automatic doors are a very interesting product in these holiday villages on the sea, specially in access areas, from the internal lifts to the external common areas, in the swimming pool area, in some service areas.

On Costa Luminosa, for example, you can see the magnificent food served in the large Taurus restaurant two-storey hall, with its stylish look ensured by its soft lighting and the shining glows reflected on a central crystal bridge.

After leaving the restaurant, you can walk along the outside bridge, cleverly lit with a pleasant soft cobalt blue light, which encompasses and surrounds the black nights in the open sea, with its huge number of indoor lights.
You can admire the smart satin crystal sliding doors, operated by Ditec Bis automations, and then, to go onto the bridge, you go through majestic wooden doors, also automated with Wel.

Large and lively, the Lido Dorado is the ship multifunction area. It is used in the daytime to sunbathe and swim in the swimming pool thanks to the automatically operated crystal roof. It is also used at night, where great parties and games are held, and buffets and a TV mega screen are available.
Automatic entrance doors on the ship are controlled by Ditec automatic doors both to give it a smart look and to control the air conditioning inside the lift shafts or the self service restaurants they give access to.

The same applies to the access to Lido Delphinus, at the stern of the ship. A magnificent balcony on the sea, where all the stunning views when sailing or the magic of starry nights can be admired. Even here, all automatic doors fitted are Ditec.

On board of Costa Luminosa a total of twenty Bis automatic sliding doors have been installed, whilst ten sliding doors have been fitted with Wel automation. Once again, Ditec automations have been selected for their outstanding practicality and reliability even when used in very heavy duty applications, such as on board of a cruise liner and, above all, in extreme operating conditions, including sudden temperature changes, strong depressions and heavy winds, constantly humid conditions and corrosion caused by salt.
