A delegation of installers from Germany discovering DITEC automatic entrances and the architectural wonders of a timeless Venice.
The Venetian plant in Quarto d’Altino is the DITEC group’s second most important establishment, and with its Research and Development department, it constitutes the heart of production and design for automatic gates and automatic pedestrian doors.
On these premises, DITEC welcomed a delegation of automatic gate and door installers from Germany and Austria, who were able to visit the plant for the very first time, seeing the planning design, technical support and logistics departments, as well as having a preview of the new products.
The German mother-tongue experts, all extremely professional and highly skilled, asked their Italian colleagues a number of technical questions, and their attention focused mostly on the new automation for sliding gates, Alta, and the new automatic barriers, Qik 80. The installers with the most experience in fitting Automatic Doors showed a keen interest in the new range of Valor automation and automatic doors.
Once the visit of the plant had been completed, DITEC offered its clients the amazing opportunity to visit the nearby city of Venice and its enchanted islands.
As Peggy Guggenheim said: “Living in Venice, or simply visiting it, means falling in love with it and having no room left for anything else in your heart”. The German colleagues had the same impression.
The guests had the pleasure of arriving in Venice by sea aboard a boat which sailed along the river Sile and accompanied them along their discovery of the most “naturalistic” part of the lagoon, usually reserved for a small niche of tourists.
The motor boat moored at Torcello Island, where they were able to admire the contrast between the refined splendour of the Byzantine architecture and a silent and as yet untouched nature. The second leg of the visit took the group to Burano, the famous fishermen’s island, which has maintained its charming atmosphere and traditions over time. In an explosion of colours – Burano is famous for its houses painted in a splashing palette of bold bright colours – everyone had the chance to appreciate the ancient art of lace-work, the island’s main production activity and tourist attraction.
And lastly, the guests reached Venice, where they were given a guided tour of the most famous monuments symbolising the city: Piazza San Marco, the Basilica and the enchanting Palazzo Ducale, a masterpiece of Venetian Gothic architecture.
The visit to our facilities and to the magical city of Venice was highly appreciated and led to the acknowledgement of the all-Italian quality of a brand which develops its business on an increasingly international scale and of a city which has no equal in any corner of the globe.
