14/05/2010 | DITEC automatic doors and barriers in the jungle! With the animals kept at Le Cornelle Fauna Park in Bergamo
“Le Cornelle” fauna park in Valbrembo (in the province of Bergamo) is an important venue in terms of both science and tourism.
The park, which opened almost thirty years ago to contribute positively to protecting and safeguarding animal species threatened by extinction, covers a surface area of over 100,000 mq and is home to over one hundred animal species, including mammals, birds and reptiles, while others are followed in their natural habitat through research and reintroduction projects. In fact, the Park provides the animals with a life as close to the conditions of their natural habitat as possible, following the latest European trends in terms of animal welfare and, at the same time, pursuing the objective of stimulating awareness of the themes and issues concerning the animal world, the environment and nature as a whole.
Since 2004, the Park has housed the Selva Tropicale (Tropical Forest), the first pedestrian trail amid exotic animals in Italy: covering 7,000 mq, visitors can admire 14 different animal species, including ibis, flamingos, alligators and monkeys. The project, the only one of its kind in Italy, stems from the desire to offer a close-up encounter with the animals, while respecting them. Visitors can stroll along a walkway and discover all the animals in the Forest, where streams and lakes and lush vegetation recreate their natural habitat.
Both the park and the Selva Tropicale are visited by thousands of visitors every year, including many school parties which require efficient, functional, safe and reliable methods of accessing and leaving the premises.
The entrances of the Selva Tropicale and the pedestrian paths along the track of the panoramic train have been automated using DITEC products.
For the entrance gate to the Selva Tropicale, automatic pedestrian sliding doors have been installed, which have a proven track record of reliability in intensively-used areas.
DITEC automatic barriers have been fitted along the pedestrian path, at the panoramic train departure station and at the crossroads with the pedestrian path.
The automatic barriers are technologically advanced, reliable, safe and are equipped with a wide range of accessories, with a large number of command and control options, from more traditional remote controls and keys to the “token” system or the “magnetic loop” one.
This application also confirms how DITEC automation is present…. even where you least expect it! But where, undoubtedly, our automation is used to regulate passage with the usual efficiency and reliability of DITEC products.
